Bell Shakespeare perform Double Trouble

On Monday 17th March we were entertained by four actors from the Bell Shakespeare Company.  They performed the play 'Double Trouble' which required the actors to play more than one role each.  The performance was exceptional, the comic timing just perfect.  I would imagine that this would be one of the first tastes the children have had of Shakespeare. What a wonderful, rich introduction!

Look closely... can you spot John Bell? We were graced with a living legend!

The response from some of IB when I asked them what they thought the play was about:

June: “The play was about the man who had some donkey ears on top of his head.”
Noray: “It was about a brother and a sister.”
Victor: “I think it was about the storm.”
Cadel: “William Shakespeare wrote the play.  The king kidnapped the girl.”
Luigi: “There was a donkey and a king tried to get a queen.”
Tong: “I think they thought the people sailed in the boat were the same people. It was confusing.”
Xavier: “The Shakespeare thing was about the people trying to find their brother and sister.”
Daniel: “I like how the audience played a trick on the donkey.”
James: “It was about the witches who were actually being pretty good.  The witches were giving the people clues.”
Emily: “The brothers and sisters all got lost in a ship.  I liked it at the end  when the man with the donkey ears fainted.”
